QUETTA: A Judicial Magistrate on Friday issued arrest warrants of former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz in the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case.
The crime branch investigating the Bugti murder case requested the judicial magistrate-6 Faisal Hameed to issue the arrest warrants.
The crime branch had earlier obtained the arrest warrant of former home minister and sitting member of Provincial Assembly Shoaib Ahmed Nosherwani.
The Balochistan government had earlier requested the federal government to extradite Musharraf, But the federal government had asked for his arrest warrant which is required by Interpol for it to issue red warrants to nab fugitives.
Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, the eldest surviving son of Bugti, had registered an FIR at Dera Bugti Police station in which he alleged Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, former governor of Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani, former chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousaf and Shoaib Ahmed Nosherwani, the then home minister of Balochistan.
Chief of Jamhoori Waten Party Bugti was killed along with his 35 comrades in a military action near Kohlu and Dera Bugti Tribal Territory on August 26, 2006.
